About Danielle

Let me first thank you for stopping by my site.  I so appreciate the community we are creating here. In the spirit of building connections, I should share with you just a bit about myself.

The Boring Stuff: I have a B.A. in Political Science and Telecommunications from Indiana University and a M.S.W. (Masters of Social Work) from Boston College. After 3 years of clinically supervised, postgraduate, real life work, I earned my clinical license to practice therapy independently in 2009; however, I have been working in the field of social work since 2001.  I hold a LCSW in the state of Georgia (#CSW007037) and a LSCSW in the state of Kansas (#4263). With Alpenglow Education, I serve as an advisory board member to the Behavioral First Responder Certification course.

The Fun Stuff: I love to travel. My family and my closest friends are my greatest treasure in life. My dance skills may surprise you. I thrive in the area of moon walking. Seriously! Just give me a pair of socks and a hardwood floor and watch out! Last but not least, there have been moments in my life that have brought me to my knees so when I ask you to roll up your sleeves and dig deep, I know what I am asking of you because I've asked it of myself. I get it. I really get it.

I have spent much of my adult life working with children, adolescents, mothers and families.  The circumstances have been varied and at times complex.  I have witnessed foster care youth rise after every disappointment.  I have walked along side teenage girls and boys who have been stripped of every physical and emotional belonging yet they still find a way to smile or laugh.  I have heard mothers cry as they struggle to put into words their innermost fears but they continue forward each and every day.

I believe in resiliency.  I believe in the power of the human spirit.  And sometimes that human spirit just needs a toolbox.

I promise you the content I share on this site is the same information I pass on to my family, friends and clients.  My deepest intention is to help myself and my family live happy, healthy and whole lives. Now with Family Mind Wellness I hope to pass this intention on to you.
